How CAN I GET INVOLVED?
If you would like to support this important research, we are asking for a one-time gift of US$10,000 to sponsor a SPLASH GPS tag and cover the costs of researcher and field expenses.
What do I get in return for my gift?
In return for your generous support, you will receive:
Naming rights to your Manta ray and a personalised adoption certificate
Access to your Manta’s GPS tag data
Compiled data once the tag has released (typically between 4-6 months) and a map of your Manta’s travel and notable findings
A unique hardback book given at the end of a 12-month period which will provide a comprehensive review of the research programme and a history of Manta rays in Raja Ampat
Who is conducting the research?
The research is being carried out by a team led by the University of Auckland’s Edy Setyawan and leading manta ray researchers from Yayasan Konservasi Indonesia.
